[Grovenet] Mean birds

We have both birds also. But I have a finch feeder filled with Niger seed
and the Red-Winged blackbirds have never tried to mess with the finches
there.

You may want to consider getting a finch feeder and place it separate from
the other feeder. I've had six to eight Goldfinches on it, at one time and
it is a stunning sight.

Julie - they are, as Ed says, Red Wing Blackbirds. We have three feeders
just out from our kitchen window and they come frequently. Their larger
size flushes the Finch, Juncos, Chickadees and Sparrows away briefly, but
they return. The Red Wings in turn are flushed by the Scrub Jays. Largely
a matter of size.
