Another item that you can serve at any party. These are easy to make and will go over good.
|
2 cups nuts. (see below).
1 egg.
1/2 teaspoon salt.
1/2 cup sugar.
3/4 cup margarine. (you may use butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla.
2 cups sifted flour.
Small amount confectioners' sugar.
1 pkg tooth picks.
|
The nuts can be any type of nuts. You can use can walnuts, Brazil nuts, etc.. You want to be able to turn them into small pieces.
Mix the butter and the 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla and egg and then beat good.
Stir together the salt and flour and then stir in the above mixture. Add the chopped nuts. and blend together well.
Shape into 3/4 inch balls and bake in an oven at 350 degree for 20 minutes.
Cool a small amount and then roll in the confectioner's sugar. When cold roll again in the confectioner's sugar.
Now have the picks for the people to use when you serve them. Most people will not need one but have them for the ones that wants them.

Good luck.
